My good cousin Niels and his beautiful bride Christianne wanted to have a small tranquil wedding…
Of course we couldn’t let this pass by quietly and my aunt organised a big surprise lunch for the whole family to celebrate this memorable day together with them.
See below the pictures of this lovely lunch.
Niels and Christianne: Congratulations and we wish you all the love in the world…

Windy lunch @ De Staat, Strandslag 10
What a great way to spend a cold Sunday in October… A nice family lunch at the beach followed by a walk through the dunes and along the seashore looking for shells.

Just some family snapshots on what was probably the last warm day of the year!

Today I did a family photoshoot with Jody, Renske, Axel and Phebe.
For this shoot I had some compositions in mind, but those went straight out of the window once I started shooting these little bundles of energy.
Children are very hard to direct and I quickly realised it’s better to just go with the flow. It turned out to be more of a reportage style of photoshoot, but I think it worked out pretty well.
I can see myself doing this more often.
It was a cool experience… I had a great time!
Thanks guys.

What better opportunity to getting used to my new Fujinon XF 23mm lens than being surrounded by a bunch of monkeys…?
The 23mm is a bit wider than my all-time-favourite 35mm lens, but I’m already seeing its advantages! Probably will be shooting a lot with this lens the upcoming days.
It does look like a familiar angle. But that is probably because it is the main focal length used in street photography, where I get a lot of my inspiration from. This was one of my main reasons for getting this lens.
Yes I know, the images have a little bit extremer post processing to them, than I’d normally would do.
I’m experimenting with some tone curve settings in Lightroom, looking for possibilities to put some personal flavour in my images. 😉

“Are we going to watch the dolphins now?”
“Just a few more nights and then we’re going to watch them. ”
“Are we going to watch the dolphins now?”
“First just play a little bit with your brother.”
“Are we going to watch the dolphins now?”
So exited… Can’t blame her. They’re such gracious, beautiful animals…

Here is a nice idea for a treat for your kid’s first birthday to give as a present to the other kids in the daycare center.
Ingredients:
First you cut out the printed illustration.
Then tape the raisins box to the back of the illustration at its base, so it can stand stable.
Put a finger puppet over the hand of your illustrated kid.
Wrap it up as a nice present.
Finally stick the sticker on the back of the wrapping paper…
et, viola! 🙂

The images above were shot in low light conditions with the Fujifilm X-E1 using a 28mm and 35mm lens. I just used the jpg files sooc. Some minor curve adjustments and sharpening (which I’m still not sure if it was necessary) were done afterwards in Photoshop.
